NIGERIA ACHIEVES 2025 REVENUE TARGET AHEAD OF SCHEDULE – PRESIDENT TINUBU

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that Nigeria met its 2025 revenue target in August, crediting the achievement to ongoing reforms that have boosted the non-oil sector.

Speaking on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja during a meeting with founding members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and The Buhari Organisation, led by former Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the President said the country’s economy is now “stabilised and predictable.”

“Nobody is trading pieces of paper for foreign exchange anymore. You do not need to know the CBN Governor to obtain forex or import goods. What we need now is to build the ship and the vessels for the export of our goods and create more jobs for our people,” he stated.

Tinubu highlighted key priorities of his Renewed Hope Agenda, including food sovereignty, healthcare, infrastructure, and security. He also revealed plans to establish agricultural mechanisation centres across all regions of the country to expand cultivation, enhance harvests, and create training opportunities for farmers.

On politics, the President described his journey with CPC as a “sweet memory” and pledged to sustain the legacies of former President Muhammadu Buhari, including establishing a Buhari House. He assured that more former CPC members would be given opportunities in government.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, commended Tinubu for his broadmindedness and support to Katsina State.

In his remarks, Al-Makura praised the President’s leadership and commitment, particularly his presence at the burial of former President Buhari, assuring him of the group’s loyalty.

“We believe in your administration, and that will be our focus and commitment to ensure the success of our party and your ultimate victory in the 2027 elections,” Al-Makura said.
