U.S. and Uzbekistan Announce Multi-Billion Dollar Trade and Investment Deals

New bilateral agreements boost trade, energy cooperation, and visa-free travel for U.S. citizens.

The United States and Uzbekistan have taken major steps to deepen their economic and diplomatic ties, following new agreements that promise billions of dollars in trade and investment between the two nations.

During a meeting held in Washington on November 6, President Donald J. Trump and Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced landmark deals aimed at strengthening U.S. manufacturing, agriculture, and critical mineral supply chains.

According to a fact sheet released by the U.S. Department of State, Uzbekistan will invest billions in U.S. industries, including contracts for 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft valued at $8.5 billion. The Central Asian nation also plans to import up to $2 billion worth of U.S. agricultural machinery and two million tons of soybeans over the next three years.

The partnership extends to energy and mining, with Uzbekistan committing $400 million toward critical minerals projects to bolster U.S. technology and energy leadership.

In addition, U.S. citizens will soon enjoy 30-day visa-free travel to Uzbekistan starting in 2026 — a move expected to enhance tourism and business exchanges. Both countries also pledged to strengthen law enforcement cooperation to combat illegal migration and drug trafficking.

These agreements mark a significant elevation in U.S.-Uzbekistan relations, underscoring growing cooperation in trade, security, and people-to-people exchanges.
