Getting Children to Obey

Phew! This is hard… Especially if you have an articulate, intelligent, opinionated four years old going on forty like mine. It’s always a dilemma to balance love and discipline. Forgetting the bad ways we think we were raised and embracing new things. But in all of this, I still remain an advocate that God’s word and his Spirit should always be our guide.

I know when I am transferring my stress to my child. I also know when I am correcting in love and to ensure discipline. I also know too well when I am being manipulated by somebody you breastfed and thought how to read.

So my point is this, despite the free-thinking rules we all have these days, there is a point we must realize that we will be accountable to One who has entrusted these humans into our hands and we must not crush their spirits or their minds.

And please adopt all tactics you can. My sure way is to make it a game. For example, Please can you tippee toe and see if your sister is awake?, or better still Secret Service Agent Nathan, can you go on a mission to fetch …. without been caught? I know very soon all these tactics will have to be upgraded, but for now, let me enjoy!
