Algeria and AfDB Strengthen Partnership for Sustainable Development

Algeria Deepens Partnership with African Development Bank to Boost Sustainable Growth

Algiers, Algeria — The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and the Algerian government have reaffirmed their strong partnership aimed at accelerating sustainable development and economic diversification in the North African nation.

The renewed commitment was underscored on 3 November, when the AfDB’s Country Manager for Algeria, Abdoulkader Dileita, presented his credentials to Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, in Algiers.

During the meeting, Minister Attaf commended the longstanding cooperation between Algeria and the AfDB, lauding the Bank’s support for numerous flagship projects in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and human development. He also emphasized Algeria’s readiness to deepen this collaboration in line with its national priorities for economic diversification and sustainable growth.

In his remarks, Dileita—an experienced lawyer and legal adviser with over 27 years in public sector and international development work—expressed gratitude to the Algerian authorities for their continued trust in the Bank.

“The African Development Bank will remain at Algeria’s side to support its national priorities through tailored financial instruments and technical expertise,” Dileita stated. “Together, we will continue to foster inclusive growth and stronger regional integration for the benefit of all.”

As a founding member and key shareholder of the African Development Bank Group, Algeria remains a strategic partner in advancing the Bank’s mission to promote an integrated, prosperous, and resilient Africa.
